Girls reserve the right to group competition that they may acquire initiative, self-reliance, courage, good
sportsmanship and self-control.
They reserve the right to be given space, opportunity and resources that will help them explore their
talents and skills for productivity and self actualization.
They reserve the right as adolescents, to access information about their body and sexuality, for a
healthy life and well adjusted personality.
They reserve the right to learn skills that will help them take responsibility for their actions.
They reserve the right to associate with friendly adults in their community to gain knowledge and
guidance, that they may learn to steer a safe course in a world of changing standards.
They reserve the right to all this, not just because they are young women, but because as our hope for
tomorrow, they have the most sensitive role to play in the world.
